Museum Kranenburgh

New work at Museum Kranenburgh, exhibition “In de rug van de zee”.

I am incredibly honored to present a new work at Museum Kranenburgh for the exhibition “In de rug van de zee”. The work “BAZ” was specially made for this exhibition and shows a landscape of dunes in Bergen, where I grew up. This work exists in an edition of 10+2AP. As an artist from Bergen, I feel a deep connection to the landscape that has inspired so many artists before me. This exhibition brings together nearly forty artists who, since the arrival of the first pioneers in the twentieth century, have captured the magical beauty of the polders, forests, dunes, and sea.

Thanks to Eliane Odding, Adriana Gonzalez Hulshof, and the entire team at Museum Kranenburgh for this wonderful opportunity. “In de rug van de zee” is not only a journey through the landscape but also through various artistic interpretations of it. Art historian and guest curator Eliane Odding has made a beautiful selection of both key works and unexpected gems from various collections. I am proud to see my work among these inspiring pieces, including some new, never-before-seen works.

Come and experience the timeless magic of the Bergen landscape through the eyes of many talented artists. On show until the 25th of may 2025.

Many artists, from around 1900 to the present, are attracted and inspired by the landscape of the polder, dunes, forest and beach surrounding Bergen. The museum was founded in 1993 in Villa Kranenburgh and expanded in 2013 with a new wing. Museum Kranenburgh is known for its collection of key works from the Bergen School and its iconic sculpture garden with works by modern and contemporary artists. In our exhibition program, we highlight our own collection, but also dedicate presentations to works by contemporary artists.

The driving force behind the museum is its team of staff members and over 120 motivated volunteers.

Museum Catalog "Twist" - Order Now

The exhibition Twist in Museum Kranenburgh (16 April – 18 September 2022), in Bergen, is my first solo museum exhibition. Together with guest curator Eliane Odding, i’ve put together a careful selection of my studio and travel photos, a concise representation of his work from recent years.

For this important occasion, 1605 Publishers together with me has created a museum catalog Twist. A minimalistic and elegant publication where apart from discovering Woudt's experiments around form, structure and materiality, you can find a plan of the exhibition with a list of titles of the work, their dimensions and location.

"Twist" Museum show at Museum Kranenburg

It is with great pride that I announce my very first solo exhibition at Museum Kranenburgh (Bergen, the Netherlands). Over the past few months I have been working very hard to create an exhibition that will make a real impact. 'Twist' consists of approximately 26 (large format) works from galleries, institutional and private collections and will be on view to the public from 17 April through 18 September 2022.

The opening took place on Friday April 15 and what a success it was! I want to thank everyone for the great reactions! And if you haven't seen the show yet... Go and see it!

Solo exhibition Museum Kranenburgh

People often ask me, what are your dreams? What are your goals for the coming years? My answer is simple: when your dreams and goals come true, just create new dream and goals! I truly believe that when you write-down your dreams and goals with clear intention, they will come true eventually. Because you start working towards them consciously and unconsciously, slowly but surely getting closer and closer.

One of the highest goals within my career has always been to create a solo exhibition in a museum.

With great pride I can announce my first ever solo exhibition at Museum Kranenburgh (Bergen, The Netherlands). In the past months I’ve been working extremely hard to create an impactful exhibition. ‘Twist’ consists of approx. 26 (large format) works from galleries, institutional and private collections and will be open to the public from April 17th until September 18th 2022. Such a serendipitous moment, as I grew-up in Bergen.

A dedicated museum catalogue will be published by 1605 Publishers. This printed document in small edition, will include: images of all works + background information, overview images, maps and general information about ‘Twist’.
