Thula at Christie’s Auction
What an honor that another work "Thula" will be auctioned, this time at Christie’s. Last time, October 2019, a work "Thula" in XL format AP1 was auctioned at Phillips in London for a record amount of £35,000. Now another “Thula” will be auctioned this Tuesday, June 29, this time 3/10 in size 90x120.
It is an honor to be auctioned alongside the greatest photographers in the world, and am immensely proud of this. Also a big thank you to Christie’s for making this work the cover of the auction catalog.

Fashion Series for Numero Magazine
For the June | July | August issue of Numero Magazine, I shot an amazing fashion series with Stylist Rebecca Bleynie and models Ajok Madel and Sophia Roetz. The fashion shoot took place in my studio and partly on the beach for the summer vibe. The fashion magazine is available from 28 May 2021
T-Stand
The T-Stand designed by me is the perfect solution for displaying larger books or Fine art portfolios. Several years ago i began making handmade collector's boxes containing a book and prints. Since these are more difficult to place in an interior, and it's a shame not to give them the attention they deserve, i’ve started thinking about a stand that perfectly meets this need. The result is the T-Stand, and as the name suggests, the big brother of the V-Stand. I’m proud to offer this stand through 1605 Publishers.

Volkskrant Magazine commissioned me to shoot portraits of Amsterdam Mayor, Femke Halsema. Images were used next to an article and interview in Volkskrant Magazine December 2020

Directed music video "Mori Shej" for renowned DJ and Producer Satori
For Internationally renowned DJ and producer Satori I directed the latest music video 'Mori Shej', he put the complete creative direction in the hands of me. This resulted in a completely black and white document in my style.
The setting of the video is an empty Paradiso, one of Amsterdam's oldest music temples, where Satori has been giving live shows for years. Ballet dancers Ahmad Joudeh and Samantha van de Doel play the main roles in the video. Joudeh won an Emmy award in 2019 for his documentary 'Dance or Die' and performs all over the world. He also recently created a choreography for the Louvre in Abu Dhabi.

NORDIC LIGHT FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY
This year 2021 i will be present at Nordic Light Festival of Photography.
During a few days in the autumn, on the rugged west coast of Norway, world renowned photography legends, aspiring photographers, students and lovers of photography gather in the small and charming Norwegian coastal city of Kristiansund.
Now, the festival has been around for over ten years, annually gathering internationally acclaimed photographers – as well as emerging photographers – for sharing of knowledge, inspiration and life stories.
The festival program presents lectures, exhibitions, gallery talks, book signings, portfolio reviews, and movies, and attracts photographers from all over the world.
Nordic Light Festival of Photography 2021 will take place 20. - 24. October 2021.
They hope they will have a 2021 festival without too many Covid-19 regulations. Nordic Light will use the best elements from last years festival, shape them even better and also add new spices into the mix. International photographers will be invited, and we will continue our mission to focus on whats new in Nordic contemporary photography.
AMBO films
A few years ago I met Ambo Mendy in Paris. During this first meeting in 2016 with, model and dancer, Mendy, I realized that this would not be the last meeting. A year later, I travelled back to France to film him. A trip through the historic city of Paris brought us to the suburbs of Paris where Ambo grew up. I was curious about where he learned to dance, where he grew up and where he practices his dance nowadays. A musical and moving portrait is the result of these encounters. This is part 3/3 shot in his recent dance school.

My Swiss gallery BILDHALLE is showing my “Peak” project as an online exhibition.
“It gives us great pleasure to present “Peak”, Bastiaan Woudt’s latest series. The NZZ magazine devoted an eight-page portfolio to the artist last Sunday, writing as follows: “Nepal, home of the highest mountains, is known for its mythic cold. A photographer from the flat Netherlands is impressed. For nearly a month, Bastiaan Woudt, considered one of the most talented contemporary photographers by one of the world’s most renowned photography magazines, travelled to Nepal in the Himalayas. In the area around Annapurna, he climbed to nearly 6000 metres. The resulting photographs, now published in book form, picture not only the cold beauty of this mystical land of snow but also the culture brought forth by exceptional climatic conditions.”

In this mini series I want to bring you along in my workflow, from making an image to printing, framing and exhibiting the end result. In this first episode we are taking a look behind the scenes during a shoot in my studio. Together with my muse Tinotenda Mushore and the help of my wonderful team (Charlotte van Beusekom and Nathalie Alting Siberg) I will show you some of the important steps in my creative process. The beautiful footage, shot by Jelmar van Belle, will leave you with a good understanding of what its like to be part of one of my shoot. In the next episodes we are taking a look at the printing and framing proces as wel as how im exhibiting the selected work.
