This month "Peak" was featured in the prestigious National Geographic. Having my first landscape focussed project in this magazine means a lot to me.

The V-Stand
For years I have been looking for the perfect book stand. One that offers quality, minimal design and will last for years. Because I couldn't find the perfect stand anywhere I decided to design it myself. The V Stand is placed low on the table, so you can look inside the book even when you're sitting down. Because of this low perspective it looks like the book floats, but with the ideal angle so that the book, regardless of its thickness, will fall open nicely. A product that will last a lifetime and is essential on the table of any book collector.

His newest series (and photo book), Peak, allows its audience an epic journey through the highest points of Nepal and can be viewed at his solo show, held by Kahmann gallery in Amsterdam, until November 30th.

Really excited to show you one of the biggest adventures of my career so far. October 2019 I went on this crazy adventure together with my brother to shoot a project in Nepal. For 26 days we hiked through the mountains around Mount Annapurna. What is considered one of the most busy trails of Nepal was something different for us. We took the unbeaten path, away from all tourists and other adventurers. We took the path known to the guides as "the Annapurna hardway". Many days without meeting anyone, except sometimes some local mountain people. It resulted in a project, a book and a show. Voiceover is my own, with text from the preface I wrote for this book.

Je bent ook bezig bent met bewegende beelden, heb je ambitie om films te maken?
Daar ben ik al een tijdje mee bezig en dat gaat best goed. Ook dit is een zoektocht en ik begin weer van voren af aan. Ik heb een geoefend oog, maar film is totaal anders dan fotografie. Mijn filmpjes maak ik tijdens fotoshoots, behind the scenes en op beurzen, Jelmar van Belle combineert mijn materiaal met filmpjes die hij van mij maakt en plaatst deze content op YouTube. Er zitten hele mooie beelden tussen.
Jelmar begeleidde mij op mijn reis in Marokko en ik heb hem laatst geïnterviewd voor mijn podcast. Deze podcasts publiceer ik omdat ik het interessant vind met andere fotografen en filmmakers te praten over creatieve processen en creatieve denkwijzen. Hoe pakken zij dingen aan, op die manier kan ik mij verdiepen in iemand.

Fashion series Harper's Bazaar
ADAMA JOBE FOR HARPER’S BAZAAR
For the October issue of the Dutch harpers bazaar I have shot an amazing fashion series with model Adama Jobe. Besides the series and exclusive subscriber cover, which will be launched at the Fresh Eyes Photo Fair this Weekend, I have been interviewed about my Peak project as wel. The regular edition of this issue will be in Dutch stores on the 22th of September and soon online. Two of the works that are in the magazine are now available to purchase as an special edition print in an edition of 25.

In “peak” I traveled through the mountains of Nepal for a month. An expedition of 26 days took me to the often uninhabited areas around Mount Annapurna, where i climbed up to almost 6000 meters. It results in a document that shows not only the landscapes and still lifes but also the proud Nepalese people he encounters along the way.
